In 1996, Paula Syms with Tracy Asbury founded Syms Enterprises, a medical billing service. Paula led the company to excel in electronic claims processing and specializing in Medicare billing. Tracy Asbury worked with Paula to build a solid clientele base while also working in actual physician offices to gain knowledge in all aspects of practice management.
With increased clientele, Melanie Suthard joined Syms Enterprises in 2003. Prior to joining Syms Enterprises, Melanie worked at a local health insurance company.
After working in several physician offices, it became clear there was more of a need for a service oriented billing company. It appears that massive corporate billing companies are impersonal. We believe that a salaried billing clerk is less productive then a percentage based billing service.
Our focus moved from marketing electronic claims processing to more of a personal service oriented billing company. In 2005 we changed our name to A Better Billing Service, LLC and Paula Syms retired.
